Is Entrepreneurship easy ?

The entrepreneurs around the world face many kinds of hardships and difficulties before one could actually set up a real entrepreneurial venture. Many kinds of organizations now exist to support would-be entrepreneurs, including specialized government agencies, business incubators, science parks, and some NGOs. Now-a-days there are sincere efforts to promote entrepreneurship as a specific mindset resulting in more entrepreneurial initiatives e.g. in the form of rural entrepreneurship, social entrepreneurship, political entrepreneurship, or knowledge entrepreneurship.

The major challenges that entrepreneurs face are like: time, money or people. Some entrepreneurs face even more stringent constraints: old businesses, new competition, or falling prices. Also some entrepreneurs face the wrath of politicians or government regulations. Facing the challenges, being able to look beyond a crisis and maintain freshness of thought to find a way out of it and to spot the opportunity are the essence of managing the challenges of entrepreneurship. It is easily said than done. One of the key requisites of being a successful entrepreneur is “big picture thinking”.

A famous quote for entrepreneurs, "The germination of an idea can happen in solitude and may not seem workable to people around you, but if you strongly and passionately believe in it with a big picture perspective, then you can certainly make it happen".

How is entrepreneurship different from a regular business ?

This is one of the most frequently asked questions that people tend to use synonymously. The true fact is that there are a lot of differences between a regular business and an entrepreneurial venture. The basic methodologies of marketing, sales, finance and human resource aspects are common to both the models. The difference lies in the inception and the innovative aspects of the venture. There is always a certain degree of innovation and creativity associated with entrepreneurship. A regular business could even refer to the sale of goods or services that already are existing where as an entrepreneur is constantly looking out for innovative and creative ways of implementing the same business. To quote an example, the food industry already has many big players who have a made a brand of their own. Despite that Mc Donald’s and Burger King were introduced in a completely different format and novel strategies were implemented. Both these ventures are true examples of entrepreneurship where the two charismatic youngsters created a unique business model and managed to survive among the tyrants of the food industry. Another important aspect of an entrepreneur is the quality to survive in all circumstances. A family business could not be considered as an entrepreneurial venture as it has not allowed the person to evolve the business but the business has instilled the business thinking in that person.

What is Entrepreneurship ?

Entrepreneurship is the practice of evolving a novel idea, making it economically feasible and turning it into a unique business model. An entrepreneur is one who is always with the thirst for carving a niche for oneself and is always on the path to accomplish their goals. There are umpteen vibrant entrepreneurs who have evolved from rags to riches. The ultimate goal of a true entrepreneur is to settle for nothing less than a successful business venture. An entrepreneur is always with high spirits and enormous amount of confidence to succeed. Entrepreneurial activities are substantially different depending on the type of organization that is being started. Entrepreneurship ranges in scale from solo projects (even part-time projects) to major undertakings creating many job opportunities. Many high value entrepreneurial ventures seek venture capital or angel funding in order to raise capital to build the business. An entrepreneur is one who always identifies a business aspect in every given opportunity and is constantly in the thought process to evolve a unique business model. There are several entrepreneurial ventures that have been evolved from a unique model and converted in to a successful business formats. Some of the notable and innovative ones include entrepreneurs like Jeff Bezos (Amazon.com), Larry Page & Sergey (Google) and Bill Gates (Microsoft).

There are few who walk, eat, sleep, breathe power and nothing more. In short power is their way of life. They are not the arrogant kind around whom this discussion is centered.
